  • Too much to ask for

    It must be too much to ask for someone to come to see a movie in the city Gold Class coz a friend has tickets. But no.... it becomes "ur selfish, u don't go to my things, u do things on ur own anyway, organise more events with them...."
    Sure, i don't go to every event with their friends either. But if we're talking about occurences, definitely my friends have been put on the back of the wagon. How sad and upsetting that a beautiful day could be wrecked by one little thing as "No".
    Anyway.... enough about that... I'm sick of it
    Just wanted to share some good news about it all. After much stress and white hairs (for sure!) over work application for full reg teaching, i've been taken under the wing of another leader at work. It's a sticky, sensitive situation and office politics in a Christian school are even more icky than they would be outside. I'm hopefully gonna be stressing less now.
    Went for final inspection of our new homely abode yesterday morning and was delighted to wander around for the last time (until we actually get the house after tenants move out), picturing where we gonna put everything. Took a few sneaky fotos. LOL of upstairs. Anyway... Dad got into a pretty heated argument with the real estate agent on the state of the house. He was just not happy with how real estate agents treat customers after the house has been sold. No "care factor" after the contract is signed.

  • September Holidays

    Update time! Yay!

    Right smack bang in the middle of the school holidays at the moment. Beautiful weather outside on this sunny late September afternoon. But sadly, i'm in my room cleaning! >< Yep.. I actually "started" the room-clean last Tuesday But lost motivation when it was incomplete by the end of the day. So this is Room-Clean Op 2! Going ok thus far. Thrown out a whole heap of clothes and rubbish. Surprising how much you discover!

    I've had a pretty busy Term 3. Can be stressful too. But getting close to the end of year. Every step, a step closer to the finish! Yay! And... Closer to the wedding!
    On the wedding... we've got the church, figured out basic lists of guests, bought my dress! YAY!!! and got my bridesmaid's dresses last weekend! They looked beautiful. It was great!
    It's really getting quite exciting! And i can't believe i'm actually going to get married! It still is kind of hazy. You know, doing all these things, but yet it still doesn't feel 100% real! Weird stuff.

    We've got the house too. Which i find particularly exciting because i'm so excited to having a place of our own! It's perfect. Not too small and not too big. I'm already thinking of how we're going to decorate it! It's gonna be awesome!!! I'm so looking forward to it. But it'll be awhile yet til we get it. Tenants renting atm.

    Went to the Royal Melbourne Show this year! With 2 of my colleagues. It was fun. I really enjoyed spending time with both of them. Especially since one of them is pregnant and won't be returning to the school next year. So good to spend time getting to know them both alot better. Loved watching the huskies in the show too. They are gorgeous dogs! The only dog i would want to own really. Although, after getting married, i'd love to have fish and maybe a little hamster . But Ken doesn't like hamsters... or any animals really. Gotta persuade him! Yes yes...

    Ken also met my colleagues one day after school at Max Brenners. It was funny. They all really wanted to meet him. He came on the way home from school. Must've thought we were a crazy bunch. Coz i still can't believe as colleagues, we are the way we are. It's such a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Weird ?! I dunno.. maybe not. It was good anyways.

    Met up with Diana for dinner on Friday night. Went to 7 and 7 Korean restaurant. It was yum. Aurelia joined us too! It was great catching up and reminiscing on highschool days. Really missed them! It was so good to catch up.

    Met up with Yunnie, Ev and Yui on Saturday. Had Yumcha with them. It was great! We went to Sharkfin House in the city. It was great seeing them. Still bagging each other just like in highschool. Such a good thing to catch up with them. I realised i've been slacking off with catching up with everyone. So so slack. Bad Ling! Will do my best to do better.

    I've pulled out of MKC and 9am backup as well at church now. Concentrating on cell group ministry. Which i'm really excited about too! Such a need! Somehow feel called to it. Gona miss my other ministries though. I've been doing them both for such a long time! Cells been going well though. Really enjoy it. Gota pray about it more though.... Definitely something to commit to.

    Joined up for the gym the other day. Ken and I. It was so good to get into it yesterday after church. I enjoyed it heaps. Woke up sore today though. But not too bad. Glad i stretched!

    Last night was one of the latest nights i've ever had i think in at least a year or 2. Really shows your age when ur starting to feel exhausted by 11pm. My family and the Lims and friends all went to Karaoke at Redbox. LOL. HOW RANDOM. Everyone was singing in the 2 rooms we booked. So funny to see the parents there too. It was great! I stayed and sang til almost 3am! I did feel fairly tired, but overcame it. And i didn't lose my voice! Everyone else almost did! But it was great. Haven't sung like that in ages. But it was good fun. I did pay for it this morning though. I was completely exhausted!

    Anyway. that was a heaping of updates. Will add pics at some point. But yeah! fun!
    Gota get back to the room.... -_-" I think i need some prayer to get it done!

  • God's providence once again

    I don't think I can fathom God's amazing, miraculous and gracious providence for team KLCT.

    We've been continually showered with abundant blessings throughout our relationship.

    Just today. During dinner before I headed off to BSF. Ken was doing OT work at the College and he gave me a call. He asked if I was sitting... and I was.... and then he proceeded to tell me that we GOT THE HOUSE!!!

    For those who do not know. We've been casually looking for a nest to roost on -  a house to live in after we're married. There have been a few we liked, but were never 100% thinking that "Yep, we want this for sure".

    So we just put in the lowest possible bid for this house (and it was actually below that was advertised online) and didn't expect much from it. But low and behold... God blessed us with this house! It was nothing short of miraculous. Because we did absolutely NOTHING ourselves to really get it. We prayed together on Saturday night for whatever God's will was to occur, and for comfort and peace for us both about the outcome. So we know that it cannot and could not be anyone other than our Lord and King who is our provider.

    Details on the house. It's near Knox. Not too far from my parents place and quiet location. It has a view of the Dandenongs. Is a townhouse with 3 bedrooms double storey, double garage.

    A small beginning for a couple that are truly humbled by this whole experience. First, both our jobs, and now this!

    Praise God!!! HE IS SOOOO GOOD!!!
